We are very excited about this year’s competition team classes. By forming competition team classes, we are able to give students who wish to pursue competitive dance the opportunity to be in a class where all students are committed to competing.  You will find all schedules and current information below.

Your first and foremost obligation as a team member is that it is mandatory that you attend the competitions that the studio decides for your team to attend. Competitions must be your first priority over any other commitments. Each competition team member signs a contract acknowledging this and the other rules of being on a competition team.  A ciopy of the contract is at the bottom of this page for your reference.

 ** Please remember all competition team fees are due in full by February 1st.  We will not get a schedule for the regionals until approximately 1 week prior to the event.  We will get a schedule for Nationals a few weeks before the event.

PRODUCTION NUMBER INFORMATION
This information was updated on January 24, NEW DATES HAVE BEEN ADDED.  The following dates are the remaining practice dates for those participating in the production number:   Jan. 24, Feb. 7, 14, 21, 28 March 6, 13 & 20.  There will also be an stage rehearsal at the Capitol Civic Centre on February 12; see detailed schedule below.  The production number will be competiting at the Rainbow Connection regionals and nationals competitions.  Your entry fee for the regional competition was included in your production number participation fee; the fee of $40.00 for nationals will be due in April.

RAINBOW CONNECTION NATIONALS INFORMATION
The cost for nationals will be 40.00 per dance and fees will be due by April 15.  A new tentative schedule has now been posted on Rainbow Connections webstie (www.rainbowdance.com).  This competition is scheduled to begin on July 13 and conclude on July 17.  We will not know until a few weeks before the event when your group is actually scheduled to dance, but you can look at the tentative schedule on the website to see how they are tentatively planning on structuring the event (please note that all KDS entries are either large groups, lines or production).  Block rooms are now available at the Kalahari and are available on a first come/first serve basis.  Reservations must be made by calling 877-253-5466 and asking for the Rainbow Connection 2012 room block.  Changes to your stay can be made through 6/12/2012 without penalty.  Please note that Kaleidoscope does not have any control over the availability of these rooms or rates.  It is in no way required that you stay at the Kalahari.

2011-2012 COMPETITION TEAM CLASS CONTRACT
All students in competition classes are required to attend the competitions that the studio designates. Failure to attend a competition will result in immediate dismissal from the team class. If the studio is notified prior to October 1, students will be placed in a class if there is space available; if studio is notified after October 1, student will be dismissed from the studio. You will also not be eligible for competition team placement in future years. The studio reserves the right to remove you from a competition class if you must miss or sit out an extended period of time regardless of the reason.
